The Carlton defense was almost impenetrable as Paige Bailey and Jamar "Sharkey" Cottle mopped up everything Wales threw at them.  Nick Voss cleared two balls off the goal line but Wales got a lucky break when Carlton goalie Dillion Clarke mishandled a collection dropping the ball for an easy Wales goal.

In a pre game interview Coach Roderick Huggins predicted Weymouth Wales would need to fight a lot harder to score against Carlton in the return match at Blenheim as in the first round Wales scored 5 unanswered goals against a depleted Carlton lineup.

And harder it was even though Wales scored in the 23rd minute the Carlton team stepped up the pressure in the second half.  A 40th minute Bailey free kick was fumbled by the Wales keeper and only needed a toe in.  Another free kick in the 65th minute saw Sean Collett’s wicked bender brush the bottom of the right upright.  Then from a corner Kyle Greaves only needed to head the ball in the goal for the equalizer but put it over the top of the crossbar.  Carlton deserved to salvage the draw.

Team: Charles King (Sean Collett 35’), Chris Bostic, Derek Scutt (Walter Capasso 35’), Nick Voss, Kyle Greaves, Paige Bailey, Jesse Turton, Tito Grazette, Garry Corbin (Daniel Hatch 45’), Jamar Cottle, Dillion Clarke.
